VIEW AVENUE ADDITION

Remodeling a 1950’s modern house is always a tricky operation. Finding the balance between maintaining the defining traits of this age and style while achieving the new purposes and goals of the remodel can push the design to a breaking point. The finished product is the juxtaposition of a modern shed roof that grows from the original elevation at the front of the house to a double height –open to the view- structure. The new deeper deck connects the main floor directly to the backyard and the raised roof overhang allows light (and view) to inundate the open floor spaces.
